Editorial and localisation policy

Answer the task before adding detail

A tool page starts with the action the reader can perform and explains the unit behind the result. A guide answers its main question early, then adds the steps, examples and exceptions needed to complete that task. We do not use a fixed word count as proof of usefulness or translate an Italian professional convention into another market without checking its meaning.

Evidence and localisation

Research records the query, language, observed results and the URL assigned to the intent. Search-result presence is not reported as a measured monthly volume. Official product documentation supports interface instructions; a source link is not described as a hands-on test of that application. Translations adapt labels, examples and technical terms, while alternate-language tags connect pages only when their main purpose is equivalent.

Images, assistance and corrections

Article figures must explain a step, comparison or boundary. Real captures of our tools identify their input and result; diagrams are not presented as vendor screenshots. Examples remain readable as text. AI assistance is used in research, drafting and implementation. Independent native-language editorial approval has not been represented as completed. Use the contact form to identify an error with its page, version and expected result.

Keep instructions specific to a platform and version

A desktop menu, a web application and a mobile interface can expose different commands or counting scopes. Where documentation distinguishes them, a guide should preserve that distinction. A formula needs its function language, separator assumptions and input conditions; a result calculated from a sample is not evidence that every spreadsheet locale accepts the same pasted expression. When a feature cannot be verified, the useful response is to identify the limit, not invent a menu path or a successful test.

Use figures to explain rather than decorate

A figure is selected for a particular question: which units differ, where a count comes from, how a formula handles an edge case, or what a sequence changes. Count-sensitive sample strings remain exact when translated labels accompany them. A caption explains any retained Italian sample or hypothetical procedure. Tables remain available as page text rather than being replaced by an image. Legal, cookie and contact pages do not receive decorative illustrations merely to meet an image quota.

Correct an error at its source

A useful correction includes the URL, the relevant heading, a short example, the expected outcome and the observed difference. Mention the application version or platform if it changes the instruction. We can then distinguish a counting-rule difference from a wrong calculation or a missing condition. Related language versions and figures need review when the shared example changes. A revision date records work actually performed; it should not be advanced solely to make an unchanged article look recent.
