Cookies and browser storage

Application storage is not a cookie list

The counting engine’s own draft storage is separate from Google AdSense, which is configured for the public tool and article pages. It does use browser storage for the draft and optional remember preference. Calling that storage a cookie would hide an important distinction: it stays in the browser and is accessed by the application code rather than being attached automatically to every HTTP request. Browser storage can also fall under device-privacy rules. Any consent exemption depends on its purpose, necessity and the service you request, not simply on whether it is called a cookie.

What is stored and how to remove it

contatore-session holds the working session draft. contatore-remember records the optional choice and contatore-draft can hold the remembered text. The project does not set an automatic expiry for local storage. Use the delete control or your browser’s site-data settings to remove the relevant copies. Clearing these keys does not recall a downloaded report or an email already sent.

Hosting and future additions

The hosting or access layer can have separate security behaviour that must be checked on the actual public deployment. This page does not certify every response header or provider cookie as absent. Advertising consent is managed through the configured consent platform, separately from the draft controls. Actual purposes, recipients, durations and applicable choices must match the public advertising configuration.

What each draft setting changes

The ordinary editor writes its working text to session storage to support continuity between tools. The optional remember setting permits a persistent draft in local storage for that browser and site origin. It does not create an account or synchronize the text with another device. Changing browser, profile, hostname or private-browsing context can give a different storage area. A remembered draft is therefore a convenience for this device, not a reliable backup. Storage may also be unavailable because of the browser’s settings.

Remove stored copies deliberately

On this page or the privacy page, use the local-data deletion control to remove the project’s session and local keys in the current browser context. Unchecking Remember removes the persistent draft while ordinary session continuity remains part of the editor. Browser site-data controls can clear the relevant origin more broadly. These actions cannot remove downloads, clipboard copies, browser backups or data already sent through an email provider. Check other open tabs separately: clearing storage is not proof that their in-memory text has disappeared.

Review the public deployment when services change

The public application includes Google AdSense; its advertising requests are distinct from local text analysis. The actual hosting response can still involve security or access features that need inspection on the deployed hostname. A future analytics tag, embedded service or server contact handler would need its own accurate purpose, recipient, duration and applicable choice information before activation. A banner alone does not establish valid consent, and calling a storage mechanism technically necessary does not prove that it qualifies for an exemption. The assessment must follow what the service actually does.

Google AdSense and advertising choices

Public tool and article pages are configured to load Google AdSense. The service makes requests to Google, including page and connection information, and may use cookies or other identifiers depending on its configuration and your choices. The counter calculates text locally; that does not mean the whole page makes no external requests.

Use the advertising consent message to review purposes and partners and change your choices. Its consent configuration must be published for the public service before the relevant advertising is activated. The local draft deletion button clears Contacara storage only; it does not withdraw advertising consent or delete information held by Google.
